Lamajamal — a palindrome for the Arabic word "jamal" (beauty) — is a collective like-minded musicians who have been collaborating since 2004. Their evocative sound fuses folk music traditions from the Greater Middle East, South Asia and the Mediterranean. The current trio features Eve Monzingo on Greek sandouri (hammered dulcimer), flute, and Turkish clarinet; Habib Wardak on the ancient Persian rubab; and George Lawler on diverse world percussion and guitar.
